I just finished making this art journal. The front cover is a print of the encaustic piece I did at Judy Wise's workshop in Portland and the back cover is a page from my last art journal. Some of the dangling beads on the spine are little beaded stars my daughter made. This is the ninth journal I have made using Teesha Moore's directions and no matter how careful I am, I still can't seem to do a "perfect" job on the spine/stitching. So far I have completed 24 art journals (the others being spiral blank journals I bought.)
I've been knitting this scarf to match the hat I previously made. The pattern is pretty simple, but somewhere along the line I started knitting the right side on the wrong side for awhile. Who cares! I'm not planning on giving it to anyone. It is Lion Brand super bulky Wooleze yarn, which I'm going to run out of before I finish it. It's very uncharacteristic of me to knit something so pink, or to knit a matching "set."
I've been loving these two books on making art. Creative Illustration Workshop and Picture This And I've become addicted to this blog Urban Weeds which presents photographs of people on the street in Portland OR and then lists what they are wearing and where the clothing items came from. One thing I've noticed...over-sized glasses seem to be making a comeback. There is also a lot of "thrift-ed" clothing on the what- they- are- wearing lists.
I'm in the process of making a new art journal. Signatures are made and holes punched. Now I have to make the covers and stitch it all together.
And some more little paintings...

androgynous person (acrylic painting in 5x7 sketchbook)
