A few more flowers starting to bloom--including the roses! My perennial garden has the prairie/wildflowers taking over. Where do they all come from?

I guess I'll call this "part 1" of my summer solstice garden tour, as blogger is not cooperating with uploading my pictures. Why? Maybe I should create an album on facebook or flickr instead.
I've really been slacking off on the painting...and just about everything else art and craft wise. I'm trying to focus on spring garden planting but it has not been going too well. Unseasonably cold (40's and 50's) and rain. In late May! So here are just very few acrylic paintings that I did in my 5x7 sketchbook.

Wow. Interestingly enough, all these photos downloaded perfectly. Unlike so many times before. Even Byron couldn't get them to download on my last blog entry, it made no sense. Then for the last two days when I tried to get on my blog, Blogger said it was not "available" check back soon. Blogger seems to have so many blogger bugs in it. And it's not just me who thinks this.
It seems everyone else is converting their paper journals to their blog. I guess that is the wave of the "now for a little while " future until a week, or a month from now some other technology comes along. In the meantime... here is my newest tulip that I planted last fall. I think it's called Angelique. It looks kind of like a peony. I love the ruffled, double flowers. I was happy that all the bulbs I planted last fall actually came up! .
And continuing on about my garden, Buster the dog is trampling on it whenever I'm doing something in it. Also, he is eating the grass, and weeds. I was going to put some fertilizer on my roses today, but he was right there. We had hired Spring Green to "spray our lawn with fertilizer and weed killer" before we got Buster. (They haven't come yet, even though the dandelions and creeping charlie and lawn violets are in full bloom.) I can see gardening with Buster around is going to be very challenging!
I've been neglecting posting journal pages recently. And I'm already on the last page of my current art journal! So I'll post a few batches in the next few days. Also, I want to get back to acrylic painting. We (my husband/co-creator in all things artistic) had cleared away all the messy art supplies that were on the kitchen table when we were cleaning up our house a couple of weeks ago, but now we're ready to get all the stuff back out and get going with the painting!
